Happy Christmas

Hi

Hope your all okay and looking forward to Christmas. We've both had cold/cough in the last couple of days. Before that we dashed over to Hull to see my family which was lovely. I also managed to get to see a friend who I went to School with and now lives in America. She came home for Christmas and we've been trying to catch each other for a few years now. She's also married an American and I finally got to meet him this time too. He was really nice and they both seem really happy wish is the main thing so we chatted like we only saw each other yesterday.

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope 2012 is a prosperous and peaceful New Year for you all.

I'm looking forward to all the new and exciting crafting goodies that are coming our way.

Hello

Hi

Sorry I've not been around for a while. My father in law kindly took us to the NEC for the day and we stayed over at their house the night before and left Hannah there as their cousin across the road came and let her out for us. So we had a nice time there. After coming home though on the Monday night for some reason we don't know why I became really poorly and had a bad stomach bug it sounds almost as if I'd eaten something I shouldn't have. I was bad for a few days and what made it worse was I couldn't eat anything and keep it down so I couldn't take my back tablets and was in agony. Paul ended up calling the doctors and getting some anti sickness tablets just so that I could at least take some paracetamol which helped a bit.

Then after getting over that we ended up having no phone line for 5 days so no internet either. Neither of us realised how much we used the internet. Don't know what happened they never did tell us what happened just problems on the line the usual thing.

Now we have no heating!!! we realised on Friday night that the radiators have gone cold. So we phoned Modern Housing Solutions who arranged for someone to come over who turned up at 10.00 pm. He couldn't fix it and said the unit has gone US. We phoned again on Saturday to be told we had to phone in again on Monday morning and put it in as a new job. Then on Monday when we phoned in we again to be told it would be the 5th December before someone can come. They left us with two rubbish heaters and that's it. Not a happy bunny. We went to the Hive who told us to complain which we did today and someone is supposed to be phoning me in the morning but the house is freezing.

Sorry for the long post and the rant.

Hope your all okay.

Couple of new cards

Hi All

Hope you've all had a good weekend We didn't do much just went into Downham on Saturday doing the usual sort of shopping and enjoying Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday Night of course. We were meant to be seeing Paul's Gran and Grandad Johnson on Sunday but we all got crossed wires and they were at the caravan shutting it down for the winter (never mind we'll see them in a couple of weeks).

The stepper card is for Paul's Auntie Eileen's 60'th birthday card and the top one is a Wedding Anniversary Card for one of my nieces. I've also been doing my Christmas cards which I will add on when I've taken a photo I'll add them to my blog.

Have a good week.

New Baby Card

Hi

Hope your having a good weekend. What a change of weather we've had. It's been raining here on and off and yesterday it was that horrible fine stuff. We went to Capture the Magic in Ely on Saturday to a Demo Day by Anita from Do Crafts. She's lovely and does really good demo's and it's really nice as the people who go are usually the same people so it's nice to see them too. It's about 20 mins away from her which isn't to bad and the lady (Vicky) and her staff are really helpful and friendly. So we had a nice time. We''ve not gone out today and have had a few programmes to catch up with on the planner (sky plus) with Paul being away during the week at the moment. At least we're half way through now.

Paul had his interview last Tuesday in London to be a volunteer at the Olympic games. As soon as we found out it was coming to London he wanted to help out so fingers crossed he'll get it. He'll hear before the end of November. He's still at Headley Court not that it's doing him much good at the moment. He actually had an exray last Tuesday so we'll see what they say about that.

The card I made is for Paul's Cousin Becky and Hubby Rob who have just had their first baby boy. I can't wait to see him. Mum and Baby are doing well. The image is a Mo Manning Digi Stamp. and I coloured it in with my favourite pro markers.

Hope you all have a good week.

Hi

I really don't know were time goes. Paul has finally had a week off work (wow) It's been the first week off for I couldn't tell you how long. We couldn't arrange to go away as even up until the Friday before we still didn't know if it would be okay or not. We also didn't want to go away for too long and leave Hannah on her own as it would be the first time left on her own since Chumley died and we didn't want her to get stressed or anything.

We did however manage to get away and see some family as we live away from them and can't always get as often as we'd like. Paul's Dad offered to have Hannah for a couple of days to see how she got on. We went there (Conningsby, Lincolnshire) on the Tuesday and stayed over night. The we went to Hull to visit my family. We stayed a couple of nights in a Hotel as Mum and Dad are in their 80's and only have a one bedroom bungalow and I didn't want to ask my brother as I know how busy they all are during the week and it was nice to have a couple of nights away. It was great to spend some time with Mum and Dad, we also went out to dinner with my Brother Chris, his wife Angie, and one of their sons Tom. We also went back to the Deep which was amazing. We'd not been back there since it first opened 10 years ago. We then went back to Paul's Dad's on the Friday. Hannah had been okay, apart from apparently she sulked for the first day and had a right face on her bless her so to say she was pleased to see us was an understatement. We're hoping to go to Portugal in January and get some time away (Paul's work permitted).

He's has had to go back to Headley Court for 3 weeks so I'm home alone, well I've got Hannah to talk to (at least she won't answer back lol). He will hopefully be coming home on the weekends.

Hope your all enjoying the lovely weather at the moment.

Triple Easel Card

Hi

Sorry I've not been on all week, Paul's actually had a week off work (wonders never cease). I actually can't remember the last time he had a week off work. We've not been able to book a holiday this year as he changed sections earlier on in the year and they all already had their holiday's booked plus all this business with Libya etc. We're hoping to go to Portugal in January he's got about 46 days left to take (not that they will all get taken).

So last Saturday we went to Capture the Magic, a craft shop we love then to Paul's Auntie Eileen's for dinner which was nice then on Sunday we met Helen and Shaun a couple of friends from Hull for Lunch at Peterborough as they had been to Gilwell Reunion for the weekend so it was good to see them again. Monday we had at home then on Tuesday we went to Paul's Dad's and dropped Hannah off then we went to Hull to visit My Mum and Dad as I don't get to see them as often as I'd like to we had a lovely time and really enjoyed our self's. We also went out to dinner with my Mum and Dad and one of my brothers, his wife and one of my nephew's which was great. Then we went back to Paul's Dad's on Friday and stayed over night there before coming home last night.

Anyway back to the card it's a triple easel card I made for Paul for his birthday. It's stamped images from do crafts and edged from Distress inks.

Hi

This is a wedding card that I've made for one of Paul's cousins. I've used a Tilda stamp and have coloured it in using promarkers. I thought I might be brave and join in the challenge on Simply Magnolia.

Hope you all had a nice weekend. We went to Thetford yesterday to a craft fair and had a great day. Got some lovely stamps. I'll have to take some photo's of them when I get chance.

Birthday Card

Hi

This is a card I've done for one of my Sister-in-Law's for her birthday. She used to have a job as a School Cook when they lived up in New Castle but Nick one of my brothers had to move back to Hull for a new job so she had to give it up. Now she just cooks for pleasure and is very good at it. I've used two Tilda stamps and my promakrers to colour it in.

Hubby took the photo's for me he's practising with a new lense he got for his camera with some birthday money. The flower at the bottom was more a purple colour than it's showing.

Hope you like it, any comments would be gratefully received.

Promarkers/Copics

Hi all

Hope your all okay and looking forward to the long weekend. Don't know what we're doing yet, we may go to the Craft Fair at Thetford on Sunday it's usually quite good.

Got a question for you - How can you store either Promarkers or Copics. I started with a box of Copics but they started to run out quickly and someone got me to use Promarkers and I've moved onto them and get on well with them but I can't remember which one you can stand up or lay down. Can anyone help me?

Hope you all have a good weekend.

new stamps away card

Hi

This is one of my latest Stamps Away card I just love the Pilkington Lane range of stamps. It's been coloured in with Promarkers.

Hope you've all had a nice weekend. It was Paul's Birthday yesterday and a few of his family have had special or are to have next week special birthday/anniversaries so Paul's Auntie Eileen decided to have a family get together (they are normally at her house). It was going to be a BBQ so our Nephew's can run round her garden. But, the weather had different ideas and it ended up been a buffet style help yourself tea. It was nice to see everyone again and we had a good time. The weather improved so we could eventually go outside.

Card

Hi

Got a new card for you. I'm going to try and update my blog more. Paul's back from Headley Court and is okay but has to go and see someone again to see how he's doing back at work and has exercises to do until then with the view of going back to Headley Court in late September (deep joy).

Anyway here's my card, I hope you like it. I've been playing with my new cd and stamps from the 'Adorable' range from Crafters Companion. I've also used the paper flower set from My Craft Studio for the flower.

Any comments as always welcome.

Thanks

Saturday, 25 June 2011

Hi

I'm home alone at the moment. Paul is at Headley Court the Help the Hero's center in Epping, London for 3 weeks. He's had a shoulder injury so they are looking at that for him. It's been very quite especially without Chumley as well. So there's just me and Hannah here. She's doing okay bless her eating her dinner and is slowly starting to play and be cheecky again. I live away from my family with Paul been in the RAF we move around a bit. So I phone my parents each day as they are both in their 80's and are doing amazing for their age but I still worry been so far away. I don't know who's dafter as Mum says hello to Hannah each day and Hannah woofs 'Hello Grandma' back to her. It's so funny.

I've been having a play with my paint fusion stuff today my berries don't look that great but I've not got the same paint/brushes that Sheena uses. I've got some of the paints but are going to have to add to it. My lavender didn't look to bad or the daisies. I've also finished knitting a scarf with the wool that has the balls on it in different shades this colour is the blue shades. I'm really pleased with it.

Right off to make my nephew's birthday card for next week now.

Chumley

Hi

We've had a sad week here at home. Our dog Chumley died on Monday. He was 13 1/2 years old which I know is a good age, but it wasn't expected and it happened so quickly. He seemed fine on Saturday then on Saturday evening he seemed quite. Then on Sunday he seemed to be really withdrawn and not happy like he normally was. He didn't want his dinner which wasn't like him as he loved food. Then on Sunday evening he could hardly move. I stayed up on Sunday night with him, Paul said he'd take him to the vet on Monday as I had doctors appointment.

Monday morning came and Paul took him to the vets first thing. The rest of the morning was a bit of a whirlwind. Paul eventually got back just in time for me to get to my doctors appointment but minus Chumley. He was in tears. He'd had to take him from our vets in Swaffham to the head office at Fakenham as they had an ex-ray machine. They told Paul they thought a tumor had burst and had to look inside and to leave Chumley with them.

By the time I got back from the doctors they where just phoning to say yes a tumor had burst which was on his spline and was gushing blood into his stomach. He also had one on his liver. They said he would need an operation to live which would cost over a thousand pounds and they couldn't guarantee he would live through the operation. They also said they would only give him 6 months to a year to live and couldn't guarantee he wouldn't be in pain and they recommended that we put him to sleep.

As you can imagine we were so upset and didn't know what to do at first. Then we decided that we didn't want him to be in pain so made the hard decision to put him to sleep. We cried all afternoon. The vets were very good and said they would bring him to Swaffham for us and we could collect him at 6 pm. After deciding what to do next we phoned Paul's Auntie and ask her if we could bury him there. She agreed and we collected him and took him there. We found a lovely spot for him and he's were we can go and visit and is in a family home so we know it will be okay. We move around a lot with Paul's job and didn't want to leave him here.

To say it's been quite this week without him is amazing. Thankfully we have another dog Called Hannah who has been very quite and following me everywhere which is understandable. I think she's getting there and is doing okay.

So this is one week we won't forget.

Ideas from a Stampscape Class

Hi

I mentioned recently that we went to a Stampscape class at BJ Crafts in Tilney St Lawrence in Norfolk. This is run by a Husband and Wife Team who are lovely and love crafting. Jean does the classes, she's brilliant at them and explains this really well. Stampscapes is an American Company and there are only 3 Companies in the UK who sell them and 1 of the is the main Distributer of them. I love them you can make all sorts of scenes up with them.

Hope the photos are okay there probably not the best and don't do the best for the pictures we created. It's amazing how 3 people can have the same stamps and be told to do the same things yet come out with different pictures.

You can't buy on the internet from BJ Crafts but you can order from them from over the phone or by going into the shop. Bob and Jean have also started doing some shows this year too. I've done a link to their shop.

Don't know if anyone ever looks at my blog at all as I never seem to get any messages left. I'd love to know what people think of my cards etc.

A Few New Cards At Last

Hi

Hope your all okay and keeping busy crafting. I have been busy card making and other crafts too. So I thought I'd better show some on my blog.

This is a Mo Manning Digi Stamp. I just love her designs I think she's very clever.

This one is from Crafter Companion cd rom Female hobbies.

This one is from Crafters Companion Popcorn the bear range that I just love and it's the stamped image.

This one is from a Polka Doodle cd rom Back to Nature which is fab as some of the images on there are the front and back of the animals. I just the Nikki's designs her new house stamps are ace.

I've also done a Cross Stitch for my Mum's 80th Birthday, I've not got a photo of that one. I'll have to ask Dad to take one for me. I'm also in the process of knitting a bear for our nephew (he's only one year old and he's so cute and cheeky). I don't remember his two older brothers been so cheeky when they was his age. He's our 11th nephew and niece between the two families. I never get bored of making things for them all though.

Hope you like the cards. I'd appreciate any comments or tips please. It would be nice to know that someone is reading my blog.

I won't leave it so long next time as I've got lot's more things to add.

Workshop

A Belated Happy New Year

I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. We went to Paul's Auntie's for Christmas Day and Boxing Day and was meant to be going to Hull for my Mum's 80th Birthday but, unfortunately Paul got the flu bug that has been going round and his Cousin has in the last couple of years has qualified as a Doctor and told him he should go to A&E which of course he wouldn't, she said she hadn't seen worse cases in her hospital in London. So home we had to go. He was really bad. I don't remember him been that poorly before. He felt a bit better on New Years Eve so we went to his Dad's for the evening and came home New Years Day. He didn't get properly better until he went back to work on the 4th January (typical). We are hoping to go to Hull in the next couple of weeks to take my families Christmas Presents and Mum's birthday present. Mind you they did have up to 2 ft of snow before Christmas and was still there until the New Year.

Today we went to a "Stampscapes" Workshop at BJ Crafts in Tilney St Lawrence, Norfolk. We had a lovely day and when I get chance over the weekend I'll add the pictures we did. I really love the stampscape stamps you can make some amazing scenes.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
