Chumley

Hi

We've had a sad week here at home. Our dog Chumley died on Monday. He was 13 1/2 years old which I know is a good age, but it wasn't expected and it happened so quickly. He seemed fine on Saturday then on Saturday evening he seemed quite. Then on Sunday he seemed to be really withdrawn and not happy like he normally was. He didn't want his dinner which wasn't like him as he loved food. Then on Sunday evening he could hardly move. I stayed up on Sunday night with him, Paul said he'd take him to the vet on Monday as I had doctors appointment.

Monday morning came and Paul took him to the vets first thing. The rest of the morning was a bit of a whirlwind. Paul eventually got back just in time for me to get to my doctors appointment but minus Chumley. He was in tears. He'd had to take him from our vets in Swaffham to the head office at Fakenham as they had an ex-ray machine. They told Paul they thought a tumor had burst and had to look inside and to leave Chumley with them.

By the time I got back from the doctors they where just phoning to say yes a tumor had burst which was on his spline and was gushing blood into his stomach. He also had one on his liver. They said he would need an operation to live which would cost over a thousand pounds and they couldn't guarantee he would live through the operation. They also said they would only give him 6 months to a year to live and couldn't guarantee he wouldn't be in pain and they recommended that we put him to sleep.

As you can imagine we were so upset and didn't know what to do at first. Then we decided that we didn't want him to be in pain so made the hard decision to put him to sleep. We cried all afternoon. The vets were very good and said they would bring him to Swaffham for us and we could collect him at 6 pm. After deciding what to do next we phoned Paul's Auntie and ask her if we could bury him there. She agreed and we collected him and took him there. We found a lovely spot for him and he's were we can go and visit and is in a family home so we know it will be okay. We move around a lot with Paul's job and didn't want to leave him here.

To say it's been quite this week without him is amazing. Thankfully we have another dog Called Hannah who has been very quite and following me everywhere which is understandable. I think she's getting there and is doing okay.

So this is one week we won't forget.

Ideas from a Stampscape Class

Hi

I mentioned recently that we went to a Stampscape class at BJ Crafts in Tilney St Lawrence in Norfolk. This is run by a Husband and Wife Team who are lovely and love crafting. Jean does the classes, she's brilliant at them and explains this really well. Stampscapes is an American Company and there are only 3 Companies in the UK who sell them and 1 of the is the main Distributer of them. I love them you can make all sorts of scenes up with them.

Hope the photos are okay there probably not the best and don't do the best for the pictures we created. It's amazing how 3 people can have the same stamps and be told to do the same things yet come out with different pictures.

You can't buy on the internet from BJ Crafts but you can order from them from over the phone or by going into the shop. Bob and Jean have also started doing some shows this year too. I've done a link to their shop.

Don't know if anyone ever looks at my blog at all as I never seem to get any messages left. I'd love to know what people think of my cards etc.

A Few New Cards At Last

Hi

Hope your all okay and keeping busy crafting. I have been busy card making and other crafts too. So I thought I'd better show some on my blog.

This is a Mo Manning Digi Stamp. I just love her designs I think she's very clever.

This one is from Crafter Companion cd rom Female hobbies.

This one is from Crafters Companion Popcorn the bear range that I just love and it's the stamped image.

This one is from a Polka Doodle cd rom Back to Nature which is fab as some of the images on there are the front and back of the animals. I just the Nikki's designs her new house stamps are ace.

I've also done a Cross Stitch for my Mum's 80th Birthday, I've not got a photo of that one. I'll have to ask Dad to take one for me. I'm also in the process of knitting a bear for our nephew (he's only one year old and he's so cute and cheeky). I don't remember his two older brothers been so cheeky when they was his age. He's our 11th nephew and niece between the two families. I never get bored of making things for them all though.

Hope you like the cards. I'd appreciate any comments or tips please. It would be nice to know that someone is reading my blog.

I won't leave it so long next time as I've got lot's more things to add.

Workshop

A Belated Happy New Year

I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. We went to Paul's Auntie's for Christmas Day and Boxing Day and was meant to be going to Hull for my Mum's 80th Birthday but, unfortunately Paul got the flu bug that has been going round and his Cousin has in the last couple of years has qualified as a Doctor and told him he should go to A&E which of course he wouldn't, she said she hadn't seen worse cases in her hospital in London. So home we had to go. He was really bad. I don't remember him been that poorly before. He felt a bit better on New Years Eve so we went to his Dad's for the evening and came home New Years Day. He didn't get properly better until he went back to work on the 4th January (typical). We are hoping to go to Hull in the next couple of weeks to take my families Christmas Presents and Mum's birthday present. Mind you they did have up to 2 ft of snow before Christmas and was still there until the New Year.

Today we went to a "Stampscapes" Workshop at BJ Crafts in Tilney St Lawrence, Norfolk. We had a lovely day and when I get chance over the weekend I'll add the pictures we did. I really love the stampscape stamps you can make some amazing scenes.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Birthday List Swap

Hi

This was one of the cards I've done for the Joanna Sheen's Birthday List Swap on her Forum that I do each month. It is of course one of her House Mouse Rubber Stamps and coloured in with Copics. I just love the House Mouse range it's one of my favourites.

Hi

Here's another card I've made recently. It was for my Father-in-law's birthday. He has his own building business so I thought the builder image from Crafter's Companion's Occupation Male CD Rom.
